Safety rules for the central tire inflation system

img29Safety rules for the central tire inflation system. The following rules must be followed when operating the car:

1. When the car is moving, the valves of the set should be open in order to ensure the same pressure in all tires. Set valves should be closed during longer stops of the car. Do not set the central valve lever to the "tire inflation" position”, when the valves for the inner tubes are closed.

2. Tire pressure should be adjusted depending on traffic conditions, namely: - unless the car manual provides otherwise, on hard paved roads the pressure should be, e.g. 3-3,5 kG/cm2, - on dirt roads and off-road, the pressure should be 1,5-42 kG/cm2, - on sandy roads, swampy and snowy - 0,75-2 kG/cm2.

The operation of the central tire inflation system consists of: performing a leak test on the system, checking the temperature of the air supply heads at the standstill (it can be warm), observing the tire pressure gauge; in addition, in winter conditions, on the daily sludge removal, to avoid it freezing in the pipes. While the tires are being pumped, especially when using compressors or compressed air installations, you have to constantly monitor your tire pressure, as excessive pressure may cause the tires to blow out and injure you
