Central tire inflation system

img28Central tire inflation system. Central tire inflation system. Some modern cars, especially trucks, are equipped with a central tire inflation system on all wheels. This allows the tire pressure to be changed using a special control system located in the driver's cabin. Tire pressure adjustment both when the car is stationary, and while driving allows you to select the most appropriate pressure, depending on driving conditions. Tire pressure is checked with the pressure gauge on the dashboard. The central tire inflation system is foldable: from the compressor, air reservoir, central control valve of the pneumatic system, valves, tire air heads, and hoses and fittings. The central inflation control valve consists of a tire inflation valve, connecting tube valves (tubeless tires) with the air reservoir and the valve connecting the valves of the tubes with the atmosphere. The central valve lever is located on the instrument panel. The control of the tire inflation system depends on the design solution in a given car. Air is supplied through appropriate valves and flexible hoses to the heads located on the wheel hubs. The air supply head allows air to be pumped into the tires and the air to be released from the tires.
