Replace the oil pan gasket (engines 1,3 and 1,6 D)

■ Drain the engine oil.

■ Screw the oil drain plug back in with a new seal (tightening torque 45 N m m).

■ In the case of an engine 1,3 unscrew the front exhaust pipe from the manifold and remove the metal cover after unscrewing.

■ Remove all bolts holding the oil pan

■ Remove the oil pan and clean all contact surfaces. Before installing the oil pan, coat the front and rear contact surfaces with sealant. Apply grease to the engine block with the new pan gasket. Put the oil pan in position and screw it on with bolts coated with sealing compound. Torque only 5 Nm. otherwise the gasket will crumble. Carry out the rest of the steps in the reverse order to disassembly. Fill the engine with oil.
