DISTRIBUTION (ENGINE 1,3) Replacing the toothed belt

Unscrew the metal cover of the toothed belt. While rolling the car with the gear engaged, "match" the alignment mark on the crankshaft pulley with the indicator on the oil pump housing. Thereby, the mark on the camshaft gear will align with the mark on the camshaft housing, and the piston 1. cylinder in position ZZ It is also recommended to apply the emergency brake, to be sure, that the position of the pistons will not change during the repair. Loosen the top and bottom alternator mounts and remove the V-belt. Remove the bolt securing the pulley to the crankshaft and remove the pulley from the journal. Loosen the three coolant pump mounting bolts, release the toothed belt tension and remove the belt.

Place the new toothed belt on the crankshaft pulleys, camshaft and coolant pump Insert a wrench under the pump pulley 41 mm and turning the pump clockwise, tighten the toothed belt. Determine the position of the pump, tightening the three captive screws. Screw the pulley onto the crankshaft, lubricating the mounting bolt with sealant (tightening torque 55 Nm) Refit the V-belt and tension by tightening the alternator mounting nuts. Finally, screw the toothed belt cover back on. Rolling the car or grasping the pinion bolt with a wrench, rotate the crankshaft o 360 and check the toothed belt tension again.
