The clutch, we call the mechanism, which transmits the rotary motion from the engine crankshaft to the gearbox and further drive mechanisms of the car. The function of the clutch is to disengage it, and then smoothly and gradually connecting the engine's crankshaft to the car's further drivetrains, which allows you to start smoothly. Operating the clutch is necessary when starting the car, when shifting gears and when stopping the car. Disengaging the clutch when shifting gears is designed to reduce the impact between the gears of the gearbox and eliminate grinding noise. The clutch is disengaged by pressing the pedal located under the driver's left foot. The engine and gearbox are then decoupled; the engine then does not drive the car. By releasing pressure on the pedal, we engage the clutch and thus connect the engine with the gearbox.
