Removal / installation of the engine 1300 – Fiat Uno

Fiat Uno I repair myself-11Fiat Uno Turbo i.e engine. it is built transversely at the front and forms with the clutch, gearbox and main gear one drive unit. Engine 1300 The turbo is structurally derived from a slow-suction engine of the same capacity.

Removal / installation of the engine

The engine is removed together with the gearbox from the bottom of the car.

Working without a column lift, there must be a suitable place for disassembly.

■ Place the car on the 2-post lift.

■ Drain the coolant from the cooled engine. To do this, open the expansion tank and disconnect the lower hose from the radiator.

■ Disconnect the battery; it is recommended to remove it from the car, so as not to cause an accidental short circuit.

■ Remove the high air pressure switch from the intake manifold.

■ Remove the air flow meter with intake tube.

■ Detach the upper rubber hose from the radiator.

■ Disconnect the electric wires at the alternator, starter and ignition distributor.

■ Disconnect the rubber hoses leading to the heater from the head.

■ Disconnect the wiring harness cubes on the right side of the engine.

■ Remove the complete air filter.

■ Disconnect the fuel lines and plug them immediately.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head, at the top.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head” on the head cover and pull it out of its holder.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Disconnect the ground cable at the left hand head.

■ Pull out the speed sensor plug on the clutch housing.

■ Pull the detonation sensor plug at the head.

■ Disconnect the clutch cord from the lever and pull out of the handle.

■ Lift the car and remove the front wheels.

■ Disconnect the ground wire from the gearbox.

■ Above the engine compartment put a special crossbar 1870595000

■ Lift the car high and dismantle the following assemblies from below:

— oil cooler with hoses,

— wheel well guards,

- charge air cooler.

- charge air cooler.

The driveshafts remain with the car when the power unit is removed.

- charge air cooler.

- charge air cooler, disconnect the right steering knuckle from the suspension strut. Unscrew only the top screws completely. Unscrew the driveshaft from the flange at the gearbox and tilt the steering knuckle to move it away.

- charge air cooler.

- charge air cooler.

- charge air cooler.

■ Attach the hooks to the grips provided on the engine and slightly lift the engine with a hoist.

■ Remove the special crossbar.

■ Unscrew the right engine mounting.

■ Lower the drive train. Note, that no rubber or electric cable is caught or severed.

■ Secure the drive unit on the floor and raise the car with a jack.

■ Place the drive unit in a suitable location and remove the following components:

- starter,

- clutch cover,

- bracket between the engine and gearbox.

- gearboxes,

- clutch,

- a pipe for supplying coolant to the turbocharger.

Install the drive unit in the reverse order. Please observe the following instructions.
