Needle roller bearing replacement – Opel Kadett

Needle roller bearing replacement

Replacing the needle bearing in the crankshaft journal requires the removal of the clutch and the flywheel. A special multi-piece tool Opel-KM-469 is used to build a needle bearing. The new bearing is pressed into the seat by means of the corresponding pressure screw, if the engine has not been removed from the vehicle.

In case of indisposition, the special tool can be used to remove the bearing of the Kukko puller with insert. If the end face of the flange breaks when the bearing is pulled out and only the cage can be removed, then you need to use an additional insert in the welt. If necessary, grind the puller hooks at their widest point. Before removing the bearing, measure its seating depth. The new bearing must be lubricated with anti-friction bearing grease. If the engine has been removed, the bearing is driven into the socket with a properly selected pin, remembering to keep the previous embedment depth.
