The extreme positions of the steering wheel are the amount of play in the steering system. The lives of the driver and passengers depend on the smooth operation of the steering system. Therefore, before each going on a long journey, you need to check the condition of the steering system, in particular, the play of the steering wheel and whether all nuts of the rod connections are secured with cotter pins against self-unscrewing. While operating the car, carefully lubricate all articulated joints of the steering system (if required). In addition, it is necessary to frequently check and tighten the nuts and bolts securing individual parts of the steering system.
