Disc harrows

Disc harrows.
Disc harrows are used for stubble breaking, to the country skib po orce łąk, for combating weeds in plowed and stripped soils (except for stubborn soils) and for pre-sowing cultivation of compact and catchment soils after winter plowing. The discs of a disc harrow work similarly to the discs of a plow, however, due to the smaller diameter they run shallower. Cutting off thin strips of soil, they turn them over and partially mix them. The inversion is all the more intense, the greater the angle of the discs to the direction of movement. The diagonal arrangement of the discs causes high lateral resistance to push the disc sections to the side. To balance these resistances, symmetrical arrangement in pairs of sections with the plates facing the concave side in opposite directions is used. The level of the disc depth depends on their load. In order to increase the working depth of the harrow, special concrete weights are used or stones are placed in the boxes mounted on the harrow frame.. Depending on the method of connection with the tractor, disc harrows can be attached or suspended. Depending on the nature of the work, we distinguish between one-track and two-track harrows. One-track harrow is used only for stubble plowing. Thanks to the large working width, they allow for quick stubble cultivation. In two-track harrows, the discs of the second team, behind the first, they are positioned obliquely in the opposite direction to the position of the discs of the first group. As a result, more intensive loosening and mixing of the soil is achieved.
